Unit 1 - Inclusive professions

Here you can find:

In ELTPedia we recognize the importance of being inclusive when we speak. For this reason, we would like to encourage you to start using inclusive vocabulary when you speak. Let’s start with the professions. Have you ever been in a situation in which you are not sure about someone’s pronouns or gender and want to talk about their professions? Use these inclusive words!

Do not forget to be inclusive when you speak!

2. Flashcards of inclusive professions 

Add inclusive professions flashcards to your lesson. Supports your teaching with this didactic material that allows vocabulary learning and opens your students' field of vision about the importance of using professions that are inclusive of their names.

3. A worksheet of inclusive professions 

Test out your knowledge about inclusive professions! In this worksheet, you can find fun exercises to practice the vocabulary learned with flashcards.

Unit 2 - Diverse family and environments

Here you can find:

Decorate your classroom while normalizing love! In this poster, you can find all the different types of families that we have in our society. It contains images and its members.

Stimulated role-play situations in which students work together to accomplish and construct critical thinking regarding new inclusive patterns.

Unit 3 - LGBTQIA+ Testimonies

Here you can find:

 

1. LGBTQIA + Testimonies Reading

Apply to your EFL classes real-life stories reading that will help your students to understand the importance of the contributions that these activists have done to the country and the LGBTQIA + community.

2. LGBTQIA + Testimonies worksheet 

After the LGBTQIA + reading, use this worksheet to do an interaction between your students and the content itself. Raise awareness on the importance of diverse identities in the classroom and in society.

Along with the video “Juan Pablo Jaramillo’s Interview”, you can use a worksheet design to evaluate listening and reading comprehension. Promote tolerance and safe spaces for students to tell anecdotes and experiences regarding LGBTQIA+ issues.

Unit 4 LGBTQIA+ concepts and History

Here you can find:

1. LGBTQIA+ Concept Video

In this video, we want to teach you what LGBTQIA+ stands for. Be ready to finally understand some concepts that you might have felt not sure about.

If you have any questions about the acronym, write down your questions in the comment section, and remember to ask for someone’s sexual orientation and pronouns before referring to them!

2. LGBTQIA+ History Video

Learn about the international and Colombian LGBTQIA+ history by watching this video with your students. Raise awareness on the history and memory of the people who have fought for LGBTQIA+ rights all around the world.
